At this time we provide 911 service for Tripp, Lyman and Mellette.

 Q: What is the population of these counties?
    A: 
12,408 people.

Q: Can I dial 911 anytime?
    A: 
Yes, you can call 911 from any phone, but only in an emergency!

Q: When I dial 911, does the operator know where I'm calling from?
    A:
Except when using a cell phone, the operator can find out where the location of the call came from. But to assist the operator in expediting emergency response you should know the physical location and how to give the direction to that location to the operator.
