Purpose

The Finance Department is responsible for the financial operation of the city, in accordance with GAAP, GASP regulations, state laws, and policies established by the City Council and City Administration.  Activities include preparation and maintenance of required accounting records, preparing monthly and annual reports, processing payroll and vendor payments, managing all contracts, and administering and investing all the funds of the city.
